Crisis care funding increased to meet demand in Geraldton

Centacare Geraldton has been granted a $55,387.00 grant from Lotterywest towards crisis and emergency relief for people experiencing financial hardship in Geraldton.

Centacare delivers a range of support services to over 4500 people in Geraldton primarily to people who are socially or economically disadvantaged. The contribution towards emergency relief bolsters the organisations' ability to respond to requests for support all year round.

This funding has been increased from $46,000 in 2022 to support the organisation to meet increased demand in Geraldton.

In 2022-23, Lotterywest raised a record $351.5 million to support the WA community including $176.7 million to WA Department of Health, $22 million for sporting programs and the $1.4 million for the redevelopment of Mitchell Street Community Centre and Spalding Park.
